Glenn Memorial UMC is seeking a college or seminary student interested in youth ministry, with a focus on relationship-building, Christian education, and congregational care. We’re looking for someone who will live out the church’s mission of “loving God, loving neighbor” in relation to our youth, their families, and the broader congregation and community.
Responsibilities include: leading Sunday School classes & Sunday evening UMYF; chaperoning retreats, mission trips, and weekday gatherings; attending community events; and helping cultivate an inclusive, dynamic youth ministry program. The ideal candidate will be able to forge meaningful relationships with our youth, think creatively, and work alongside the youth director to shape the group's identity and culture.
Located on the campus of Emory University, Glenn welcomes all people into the full life and ministry of our congregation, regardless of race, culture, ethnicity, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, family or socioeconomic status, education, politics, physical or mental ability, or faith history. Interns will have the opportunity to serve alongside our team of ordained clergy (both Elders and Deacons), lay staff, and volunteers.
Part-time (10-12 hours/week) year-round, salaried position. Start date: June 2024; compensation: $500-600/month.
