Responsibilities

  • Coach, develop, and manage department staff by providing weekly  co-observations, in the moment coaching, 1 on 1, and cohort  meetings to instructional leaders and teachers to support implementation of the school wide focus;  

  • Execute year-long scope and sequence, plan, and deliver high-quality professional development that trains staff members in Resurgence Hall’s curricular and culture systems and key pedagogical issues;

  • Plan and execute grade level or cohort meetings aligned to school wide focus; 

  • Model teaching and co-teaching to increase teacher instructional skill and content knowledge; 

  • Ensure full implementation of Resurgence Hall Instructional Frameworks; 

  • Provide coverage support when required to ensure scholar learning and safety continues uninterrupted; 

  • Monitor and ensure full implementation of school-wide culture systems including implementation of the behavior management cycle, incentives, logical consequences, and the Scholar and Family Handbook;

  • Provide culture and behavior support in classrooms, small group, and individual students;

  • Conduct performance evaluations for all department staff as aligned with Georgia Teacher Keys Effectiveness System (TKES) and Resurgence Hall Performance Rubrics;

  • Support school-wide curriculum and assessment work based on content expertise such as lesson planning, assessment revisions, collaborative scoring, and/or data analysis;

  • Maintain and secure all curriculum materials inclusive of electronic resources, purchased instructional materials, and assessments;

  • Monitor and lead analysis of, and develop department staffs’ ability to analyze scholar data (daily work samples, weekly quizzes, Interim Assessments, etc) to identify strategies that will move scholars toward mastery and help to determine a strategic instructional plan;

  • Monitor and ensure full maintenance of up-to-date data visuals in school wide spaces to illustrate scholar achievement and growth on quarterly quizzes, Interim Assessments, and NWEA MAP; 

  • Maintain up-to-date, accurate, and detailed records in all school-wide platforms such as STEPtool, PowerSchool, Illuminate and DeansList

  • Lead department staff communication and ensure that 100% of assessments are completed, scored in alignment with department guidance, and entered into Data & Assessment software; 

  • Lead department staff communication and ensure that 100% of quarterly Report Card, Midterm Progress Report, and Family Partnership Conferences are completed in alignment with department guidance 

  • Communicate daily with all families regarding scholar academic and social/emotional progress through school-based applications (apps), phone, and email;

  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation on scholar progress through scholar portfolios and progress report cards, and assessment files;

  • Build deep relationships with scholars, families, and staff to foster a culture of joy and community;

  • Lead and support schoolwide initiatives such as weekend recruitment events, evening parent workshops, and other events with advanced notice outside of regular work week and hours;

  • Provide intervention to scholars who are below grade level and/or significantly above grade level;

  • Lead and support schoolwide and grade level initiatives such as Parent University Nights, Scholastic Book Fairs, Storybook Character Day, Wall Card Day, etc.;

  • Perform other duties, as deemed appropriate, by the Director of Culture and Instruction

 

 

 

Qualifications/Certification. All candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree is preferred. Georgia certification or other state certification preferred, or willingness/eligibility to pursue a teaching certification, if necessary.

 

Prior Experience. Minimum 3 years full-time teaching experience in grades 6-8 with a track record for raising and sustaining scholar achievement in both general and special education populations. Teaching experience in a small group and intervention setting as well as acceleration/gifted setting. Minimum 3 years management experience of teams. Strong project and time management skills; ability to effectively backwards plan, juggle multiple priorities with great attention to detail, and deliver consistent and timely results. Sense of humility, urgency, and customer service mindset. Excellent ability to proactively solve problems. Demonstrates excellent organizational, project planning, and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Relationship builder at core.
