Position Overview
The youth pastor will lead and organize, under the supervision of the Christian Education pastor,
an effective youth ministry that includes the following:
- Christian fellowship
- Biblical teaching and discipleship
- Outreach and evangelism
- Grow youth to become passionate for God and God’s work in the world
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide leadership to overall youth ministry that is consistent with the overall goals and objectives of the KCPC Christian Education
- Report to and work closely with the Christian Education pastor who is the youth pastor’s direct supervisor.
- Lead and preach for Sunday worship services with the CE pastor as scheduled.
- Lead and teach youth group Bible studies.
- Recruit and train youth group teachers.
- Build a youth ministry team with youth leaders, teachers, and volunteers toward a goal of making youth who are fully devoted followers of Christ.
- Collaborate with church staff, deacons, and elders to develop a more effective youth ministry and develop new programs and directions to that end.
- Establish strong personal relationship with the youth toward maximizing ministry impact in their lives; provide individual counseling as needed.
- Seek to integrate youth into the wider life of the church helping the youth to be connected to the whole body of Christ.
- Participate in regular staff meetings, lead PTA meetings with the PTA chair, and in scheduled churchwide ministry meetings.
- Maintain regular and effective communication with the parents, making sure that they are connected closely with the youth ministry; work closely with PTA chair and director (부장).
- Lead and organize with teachers, staff, and youth, the following events:
- Retreats and lock-ins
- Youth activities and fellowships
- Mission opportunity events (soup kitchens, food banks, etc.)
- Other youth activities and events
- Plan and maintain an annual schedule and ministry budget.
- Other duties as needed and requested by the Christian education pastor and senior pastor.
