ROLE SUMMARY
The Jubilee Pastoral Resident will participate in the pastoral and strategic work of the Jubilee Council. In this one-year residency, this person will be mentored in pastoral & theological leadership and gain experience in a church setting, particularly in the areas of reconciliation, diversity, & equity.
The Jubilee Council exists to help Immanuel implement a strategic plan that helps us as a congregation move toward racial justice in our community in prayerful, intentional, and formational ways. The council works to foster a sense of belonging and agency for multicultural voices.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
- Leads monthly Jubilee Council meetings and implements the strategic plan with the support of the council members
- Regular meetings with lay leaders involved in the work of the strategic plan
- Builds relationships with potential partners in the local area who are working towards racial justice
- Manages annual recruitment and onboarding for new Jubilee Council members
- Oversees council subcommittees with regular check-ins and provide support as needed
- Participates in the Anglican Foundations Program through our diocese, C4SO
QUALIFICATIONS
- Theological education or experience working in a church setting preferred
- Experience in diversity and equity work preferred
- Experience with leading and coordinating admin tasks for a group
- Works well in a collaborative team setting
- Exhibits strong relational skills
