National Cathedral School is seeking a full-time Individual Giving Coordinator to start after March 17, 2025. The candidate will report to the Director of Development for Individual Giving, with a dotted line to the Head of Development and Philanthropy, and will provide major gift fundraising support. This role involves serving as a liaison to two Governing Board committees, coordinating individual giving events, providing administrative support, and maintaining key records. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks, and excellent communication abilities. The candidate should be able to work on campus Monday-Friday with occasional evenings and weekends as needed. Based on experience, the salary for this position ranges from $50,000-$55,000 and includes a comprehensive benefits package along with support for professional development.
Responsibilities include:
Individual Giving Support
- Manages calendar and scheduling of major gift meetings to help ensure coordination and efficient time management
- Handles constituent inquiries and outreach
- Prepares prospect briefings and event briefings for individual giving events, and contributes information about major giving prospects for other event briefings
- Manages logistics for individual giving events
- Conducts prospect research
- Drafts and manages correspondence
- Provides supplemental event support.
- Serves as occasional backup for Development Coordinator, managing incoming phone calls and mail
Governing Board Support
- Proactively works with Head of Development, Director of Finance and Operations, and Assistant to the Head of School to ensure professional-level interaction with Governing Board members
- Ensures timely and accurate tracking of Governing Board membership and tenure, Board leadership and tenure, committee assignments and tenure. Performs and ensures timely and accurate recording of Board service in Raiser's Edge and Board working documents
- Drafts and maintains professional biographical information for Governing Board members and Board committee members
- Provides administrative support to the Head of Development and Philanthropy who serves as staff liaison to the Governance Committee and Development Committee of the Governing Board. Responsibilities include event management of committee meetings, management of committee working documents and committee communications, and preparation of committee meeting minutes
- Serves as backup for Assistant to Head of School for event management of Governing Board meetings. If the Assistant to the Head of School is absent, attends meetings of the Governing Board and prepares a draft of Board meeting minutes.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and anticipate needs.
- Strong diplomatic skills for handling challenging situations and maintaining collaborative relationships with colleagues, senior-level executives, and volunteer leaders.
- High level of discretion, confidentiality, and performance under pressure.
- Proficiency in drafting professional correspondence and communication.
- Strong proficiency with Google.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Superior organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Professional experience in an executive support role in Development, Alumni Relations, or a related field is preferred.
