Location: The Collective, Atlanta, GA Job Type: Part-Time (estimated 18 hours per month)
About the Collective: Founded in August 2023, the Collective is a church without walls seeking to offer a compelling vision of love and belonging to new generations especially those who have been hurt by the church or have become disillusioned with organized religion.
Position Overview: The Family Ministry Lead will play a vital role in shaping and growing our children’s ministry. This person will be responsible for crafting engaging children’s messages, leading kids’ church, organizing family-oriented events, and serving as the primary connection between families and the church. They will also focus on building relationships with new families and integrating them into the life of The Collective.
Key Responsibilities :
● Programming & Teaching
○ Develop and present engaging children’s messages per month during our Sunday worship services. The Collective worships on the first and third Sunday of each month at 5:00pm.
○ Lead Kids Church, creating an interactive and meaningful experience for children of various ages. Kids Church will take place after the children’s message, last around 20-30 minutes, and provide our children with a developmentally appropriate faith formation opportunity.
○ Ensure all teaching aligns with the Collective’s progressive values and inclusive welcome statement.

● Event Planning
○ Plan and execute one family-oriented event each month (on a Saturday or Sunday) to foster community engagement and connection among families.
○ In collaboration with our pastor, coordinate logistics, volunteers, and promotional efforts for family events.
● Family Engagement & Outreach
● Serve as the primary communicator between families and the church, ensuring parents and caregivers feel informed and supported.
● Help recruit new families to the Collective by fostering a welcoming and engaging environment.
● Partner with church leadership to develop strategies for family involvement and growth, especially around young people’s participation in worship.
Qualifications:
● Passion for children’s ministry and creating engaging faith-based experiences for kids.
● Strong communication and leadership skills.
● Experience working with children in a church, school, or community setting.
● Ability to connect with and build relationships with families.
● Commitment to The Collective’s mission of inclusion, justice, and love.
Compensation & Hours: This is a part-time position, with flexible hours depending on programming needs. We plan to pay this individual a $450 stipend for an estimated 18 hours each month ($25 an hour). Here is how those hours breakdown:
● First and Third Sunday of the Month 4:00pm-7:30pm (7 hours total)
○ The Children’s Ministry will help set up worship and kids church, participate in worship, lead kids church, and assist with the breaking down of worship and kids church.
● Once Monthly Family Programming (4 hours)
○ This number includes a two hour program with one hour for setup and one hour for breakdown.
● Planning and Recruiting (6 hours)
○ This number includes 100 minutes of planning time for each worship Sunday and 100 minutes of planning for each family program.
● Monthly Check-In (1 hour)
○ The Children’s Ministry Lead will meet monthly with the Collective’s pastor to discuss events, logistics, and goals.
Total Compensation: The Children’s Ministry Lead will be compensated monthly at a rate of $450 per month.
