Hybrid position, both remote and on site work.

Director of Youth and Christian Education Ministries – Part Time

Buford Presbyterian Church, located in Sugar Hill, GA, welcomes all on our path towards a stronger faith relationship through traditional worship, fellowship, and community service.  Our active congregation, with 385 members, is seeking non-ordained or ordained applicants.

The ideal person will work with us part-time, typically 20 hours/week. This will be a hybrid position working from home as well as on-site during events. 

The Director of Youth and Christian Education Ministries at Buford Presbyterian Church is called to:

  • Lead the Presbyterian High School and Middle School Youth fellowship events
  • Evaluate existing programs and develop new programs as needed
  • Coordinate activities in conjunction with the Christian Education Committee

Job Requirements
Qualifications:
• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Christian Education, Youth Ministry, Theology, Education, or a related field
• 2+ years of experience in Christian Education, Youth Ministry, or a related field
• Passion for working with children and youth by making disciples and fostering their spiritual development
• Strong organizational, communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills

Compensation will be commensurate with training and experience.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify, appraise, and order curriculum as needed for the Christian Education Committee
  • Help recruit, develop, train, and support volunteers, teachers, and leaders
  • Supervise programs in conjunction with Christian Education Committee educational community outreach (VBS, Easter, Fall events), educational (Epiphany Breakfast, Rally Day, Welcome to the Lord’s Table), and recognition programs (Blessing Backpacks, 3rd Grade Bibles, Graduate Sunday, and Teacher Appreciation)
  • Serve as the Church Representative to the Weekday School Advisory Board
