Meet Anderson Hills Church:
For over 200 years, Anderson Hills has been spreading the good news of Jesus. From their humble beginnings in 1820, in a log schoolhouse, to their state-of-the-art campuses, they continue to spread the good news of Jesus, and they desire to help others in a hurting world.
Anderson Hills has grown substantially over the years. As growth occurred and space became limited, they bought new properties, built new facilities, and relocated three times. In 2018, they launched Fresh Expressions, taking the church to where people are. They now hold worship in area breweries and assisted living centers. They also have a second campus.
About a year ago, Anderson Hills disaffiliated from the United Methodist Church and is now an independent church and part of the Foundry Network, a group of like-minded churches who are united to build God’s Kingdom. Today, with the vision of reaching new families with kids and teenagers for Jesus, Anderson Hills is an intergenerational, vibrant community of faith, made up of people from all walks and stages of life, making a difference in their community and the world while passionately reaching others with the love of God!
About the Director of Modern Worship:
The Director of Modern Worship at Anderson Hills will oversee all elements of the Worship Center services and lead the Worship Center teams ( musicians, vocalists, worship hosts, audio, visual and lighting (AVL), and media). The Director will lead and disciple worship teams and engage the hearts and minds of the congregation while leading weekly Spirit-filled worship of God.
The Director of Modern Worship's Responsibilities Include:
Worship Leadership

Coordinate all elements of worship that are excellent, reverent, and God-honoring

Ensure that the worship services support and drive the strategic direction of AHC

Lead service evaluation meetings with pastors and staff, welcoming constructive feedback to continually grow in excellence

Manage, equip, and recruit all worship teams (musicians, vocalists, worship hosts, AVL, and media)

Introduce new music that actively engages the church in worship while also utilizing familiar music that the congregation readily sings

Choose music and other worship elements to suit the context and culture of AHC

Work ahead to keep a healthy margin for creativity and excellence

Provide needed resources for the worship team (sheet music, chord charts, parts, mp3, tutorials, etc.)

Lead efficient rehearsals and empower others to do so as needed

Creatively plan musical settings that connect the entire congregation with God

Maintain consistent communication with a large team of members who by nature are present for in-person gatherings on a revolving basis
Discipleship

Provide a spiritually healthy and thriving atmosphere for team members.

Promote spiritual growth of team members through one-on-one discipleship and mentoring

Continually equip each team member in their role or position

Actively recruit and train new members from inside and outside of the church
Technology
-
Oversee all technical direction, repair, and new purchases for the Worship Center, Sanctuary, and other relevant spaces

Oversee and produce an ongoing workload for the Technology assistant (10 hrs/week)

Manage, recruit, and equip AVL team

Oversee the creative process for all technology utilized in services (lights, media, sound, cameras, etc.)
General

Utilize Planning Center Services effectively

Oversee the Modern Worship budget

Oversee Worship Center stage design and aesthetics

Work with Creative and Logistics Teams on special event planning

Help with video and graphic elements as needed for services

Plan and lead as needed in a variety of non-typical worship settings (worship concerts, kids, and student events)

Manage rooms for Modern Worship (Worship Center, storage, Studio)

Other relevant duties as assigned by the Lead Pastor
Staff Culture

Cultivate a healthy synergistic relationship with the AHC staff

Maintain a thriving and healthy relationship with the Traditional Director of Worship and Traditional Worship teams

Lead performance evaluations for Technology Assistant and Associate Director of Modern Worship
What You Bring:

Education & Experience
-
Relevant Bachelor's degree preferred, or sufficient field experience and relevant training
-
5-7 years of experience in a related field
Personal Characteristics & Qualifications

Must maintain a Christ-centered lifestyle of worship, devotion, and holiness

Willing, teachable, Spirit-filled, and passionate

A team player who contributes unique gifts to the whole staff culture

A healthy balance of professional confidence and Christ-like humility

Gifted in a visible and demonstrative way as a worship leader, vocalist, and musician

Organizational, leadership, and communication skills

Able to read music and or chord charts, lead sheets, and tablature

Familiarity with using tracks (Looptimus Prime, Ableton Live, MultiTracks, etc.)

Highly developed skills as a musician and teacher

Strong technical skills (AVL , ProPresenter, recording, and post-production)

Lifelong learner who participates in continuing education events
