Since 1989, SLI has been addressing the specific needs of Black women living with HIV and other disproportionately impacted communities through direct services, research, and advocacy. SLI utilizes an intersectional approach to human rights and Reproductive Justice to provide testing, counseling, sexuality education, community support, policy and advocacy, and research programs.

Position

SisterLove, Inc. is seeking a full-time Research Coordinator to assist with our Community-Based Research Program (CBRP). The CBRP Program works in conjunction with partners throughout the local community to conduct research that is dedicated to those most impacted by RJ issues and reproductive health disparities, including HIV/STIs and access to comprehensive sexual and reproductive health services. Specific projects within this program include the Georgia Access to Medication Abortion (GAMA) that SisterLove leads, along with projects in collaboration with the University of California at San Francisco, Emory University, and RTI International. In this position, the Research Coordinator will work on a team and be responsible for supporting multiple research projects. Main duties include communication with key stakeholders and research partners, managing Graduate Research Assistants and Interns, assisting in facilitating qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis, and contributing to research dissemination efforts to community and scientific audiences. This position will report to the Research Program Manager.

Coordination of Research Projects

  • Communicate with research partners and team to oversee completion of study activities.
  • Implement study initiatives in compliance with appropriate rules and regulations.
  • Assist with scientific literature reviews.
  • Assist and coordinate quantitative and qualitative data collection/analysis such as surveys or focus groups.
  • Maintain documentation as needed for each project.
  • Facilitation of qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis.

Administrative

  • Collaborates with the research team to prepare results, co-author scientific papers for presentation and publication, and disseminate information via seminars, lectures, etc.
  • Acts as liaison between sponsoring agencies, collaborating organizations, and/or other research and/or educational institutions.
  • Participation in proposal development and grant management responsibilities, including time tracking, invoicing, and budget management.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • Successful completion of a bachelor's or higher degree in a major such as public health, social science, or related, from an accredited college or university; OR appropriate combination of education and experience and 3 years' research study in sexual and reproductive health or other relevant experience required.
  • Previous experience in community organizing.
  • Experience in HIV sexual health and reproductive justice is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team on multiple projects at once.
  • Fluency in written and verbal Spanish is a plus.
