Job Description

Are you passionate about making a real impact in Atlanta by supporting nonprofit organizations? As our Community + Civic Engagement Coordinator, you’ll be the wizard behind the curtain, crafting strategies and systems to help our 150+ nonprofit partners thrive. By building strong relationships with partners in the food insecurity, educational equity and environmental sustainability sectors, you’ll empower them to deliver excellent and impactful experiences for our 60,000 annual volunteers, ensuring that together, we make a lasting difference in our community.

Partner Support

  • Lead the onboarding process for new partners, making sure they feel welcome and prepared to leverage their membership fully.

  • Orchestrate our membership renewals, supporting our high retention rate by keeping all contracts, payments and communications up to date.

  • Hold our nonprofit partners accountable to compliance with our policies, especially around volunteer verifications.

  • Keep an eye on quality in managing partner project submissions, providing meaningful guidance to ensure all projects on our calendar sparkle with impact.

  • Support partner programming, providing administrative assistance for episodic initiatives.

Volunteer Leader Management:

  • Be a software guru for our partners, facilitating engaging live trainings on how to leverage our technology.

  • Provide real time support for nonprofits having trouble or seeking recommendations on software use.

  • Work closely with our tech support team on support tickets and resolution delivery.

  • Retrieve, compile, and analyze data needed for grant reports and partner communications, transforming numbers into insights.

Volunteer Recruitment & Community Engagement:

  • Boost partner visibility by teaming up with our Marketing team on partner project promotional plans.

  • Play a key role in our team’s marquee events (Hands On Atlanta Week, MLK Days of Service, 9/11 Day, Million Meal Pack, and others), leading large-scale projects that leave a lasting impact and supporting the behind-the-scenes magic needed to make them happen.

  • Dive into the community scene and rock the recruiter role at local events, spreading the word about all the amazing volunteer opportunities with Hands On Atlanta.

The ideal candidate has an entrepreneurial mindset and is interested in engaging and growing our community of civically engaged Atlantans through high touch, scalable communications, and community management. You might describe yourself as curious, patient, resourceful, and a positive force for change.

You have:

  • You think like an entrepreneur and love the idea of supporting a portfolio of impactful nonprofits and community organizations.

  • You’ve got the know-how when it comes to customer service, and are comfortable helping clients who are under pressure themselves.

  • You’re a multi-tasking superstar, who can balance many simultaneous projects on different timelines, like a pro.

  • Your communication skills are top-notch—whether you’re chatting face-to-face, over the phone, or writing up a storm.

  • You’re super proactive, anticipating needs before they’re spoken and not afraid to be persistent in communications.

  • You’re comfortable engaging community members in conversation, whether out at a project or hosting an informational table at an event.

  • You keep a cool head, work well under pressure, and love being part of a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

  • You’re tech-savvy with some experience in CRM and help desk software – we use Golden and Tawk.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • 1-3+ years of experience in a related role or in the nonprofit field.

  • A valid driver’s license and a reliable ride, plus the ability to navigate around greater Atlanta with ease.

  • Solid understanding of Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Teams, etc.).
