Marist School, a co-educational, college-preparatory, Catholic school, seeks a faith-driven, experienced school leader to serve as Associate Director of College Counseling for the 2025-2026 school year.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The Associate Director of College Counseling works in collaboration with the other members of the college counseling and counseling staff to
- Manage a caseload of students, providing strategies, advice, support, and guidance to those students and their families throughout the application process and making the best individualized choice for college.
- Meet with students individually, with family members, and in groups to educate and empower them on how to navigate the college process, admissions trends, and individual college options.
- Assist students to identify resources for scholarships and financial aid for colleges and universities.
- Support or lead events and educational outreach programs for both the student and parent communities.
- Create and submit materials to colleges by deadlines in support of college applicants.
- Write strong and effective recommendations for students applying to college.
- Support the faculty in writing recommendations for students applying to college.
- Along with other members of the college counseling team, facilitate visits between students and college representatives at the school.
- Cultivate mutually beneficial working relationships with college admissions professionals and local area college counseling colleagues.
- Visit college campuses to stay abreast of university offerings and maintain familiarity with signature programs.
- Pursue professional development opportunities.
- Attend conferences and professional meetings in order to remain current with industry trends.
- Be involved in the school community at large.
- Assume responsibility for other projects as assigned by the director of college counseling or administration.
RISK MANAGEMENT STANDARDS
Specific abuse risk management standards are summarized as follows.
- Adhere to boundaries with students.
- Attend required abuse risk management training.
- Report suspicious and inappropriate behaviors.
- Follow mandated abuse reporting requirements.
- Adhere to job-specific abuse management responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
A master’s degree from an accredited college or university is required along with 3-5 years of experience in college counseling or selective college admissions. Experience with counseling students who wish to pursue the arts or athletics in college a plus. Additional time is required beyond a normal work day or week for evening and some weekend meetings and gatherings. Transcripts and references must be submitted during the application process. A background check and drug screen are part of the hiring process.
