Key Responsibilities
Uphold center and ministry standards and set the example by consistently modeling professional leadership, management and instructional skills while interacting with others.
Assist and support the Director in the oversight and overall management the Child Development Center while upholding a faith-based mission.
Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of curriculum and educational programming for all age groups (infants through pre-K).
Ensure curriculum meets local/state/federal standards and aligns with accreditation requirements.
Support, mentor, and coach teaching staff on lesson planning, assessment practices, and classroom management.
Assist with organizing and leading professional development opportunities for educators.
Collaborate with families and staff to support individualized learning plans and developmental goals.
Comprehends and implements all Bright from the Start rules and regulations.
Manages all CDC enrollees’ files include but not limited to immunization records, registration forms, release waivers according to state requirements.
Assists with teacher schedules, contracted labor, staff care, Wednesday Night Suppers, Sunday mornings, Easter and Christmas Eve.
Conduct prospective parent tours.
Assist with teacher training, hiring process, and retention process.
Assist with the development of teaching team professional development goals.
Serves as person in charge in the absence of the Director of Childcare.
Supports the vision, direction, and mission of Northside UMC, Children’s Ministry and the CDC through Administrative and Programmatic support

Qualifications
Proven experience and success as an Assistant Director
Knowledge of the requirements of BFTS drop in inspections
Strong leadership skills – ability to successfully manage a team
Minimum 3 years in leadership role, and 5 years in classroom in a licensed childcare center
Strong personal Christian faith and commitment to serving in a ministry environment
Excellent leadership, problem solving, supervisory, conflict management and communication skills
Knowledge of BFTS Childcare Center licensing requirements
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, Communication, Business, or Psychology
Supervisory experience, preferably in an early learning environment
Combination of education and experience commensurate with the minimum requirements of this position
Early learning curriculum knowledge strongly preferred
