General Description and Classification Standards
Assists the assigned department in carrying out the overall functions and day-to-day operations relating to community affairs, stakeholder engagement and public relations. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: supervising staff; providing administrative support; coordinating special events; resource and fund development, creating outreach initiatives that align to organization missions; attending and presenting at executive-level meetings; tracks and reports community impact utilizing various metric software and process and tracks annual budget appropriations.
Supervision Received
Works under very general supervision with the expectation of being a self-starter. Depending on organization structure, may work independently with responsibility for an assigned function or program.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Serves as liaison to business, professional, religious, community and civic groups for continuous positive public relations.
• Reviews complaints, identifies trends and discusses plans of correction.
• Administers the department's budget by monitoring and tracking expenditures for personnel, operations and equipment.
• Assists managers and supervisors in the development of appraisals and performance evaluations for personnel.
• Responds to questions, complaints and requests for information by telephone, in person or by mail from the community at-large, city employees and department heads.
• Speaks to community, civic, religious, business and professional groups to provide information and positive public relations concerning activities and initiatives of the department.
• Helps drive the direction and engagement of ATL Stakeholders and businesses within the enterprise.
• Manages vendor engagement by negotiating quotes for services, tracking services and finalizing vendor payments on or before net 30.
Decision Making
Uses independent judgment in routine and non-routine situations including preparing the annual budget and analyzing the department's needs for future staffing. Leadership Provided Supervises and evaluates assigned staff, handling all employee concerns, directing work assignments, counseling and disciplining employees when necessary, and completing employee performance appraisals.

• Ability to manage engagement with multiple business units and perform duties under a moderate degree of stress related to duties that require constant attention to details and tight deadlines; and ability to develop, comprehend, and disseminate management reports.
